Throughout my career, I have been involved in the management of major projects and major programs of work. Some of these were where I was the dedicated project or program manager, whilst others involved my leadership, challenge and coaching of project & program management teams
Heathrow Hilton Hotel
One example was the Hilton Hotel at Heathrow, which earned me the 1991 APM Project Manager of the Year Award.
This project, valued at around £80M today, was completed in just 21 months during the peak of activity in the late 80's boom. The project's delivery was recognised as innovative and effective, winning numerous awards for both design and construction approaches.
Egnatia HIghway, Greece
Another example was my leadership of the team that project managed the 700Km £2Bn Egnatia Highway project in Greece. This complex EU-funded project involved the design and construction of a dual carriageway highway across the width of Greece from Turkey to the Adriatic, which included some of the most mountainous terrain in Greece, where significant sections were entirely either tunnel or bridge.
