I have successfully carried out many rapid strategic reviews to develop & deliver change to parts of larger businesses.
Two examples are described below:
KBR
Whilst at KBR, I took over a very substantial transportation consulting business that had failed to anticipate the impact of an imminent change in the buying practices of its main customer, the Highways Agency, during their procurement transition to Early Contractor Involvement. This change had the capacity to quickly and massively reduce workload with consequent impact on headcount and profitability. I developed & delivered a recovery plan that successfully addressed the threat, involving several different strategic threads, which actually enabled the growth of the business
ISG
Whilst at ISG, I was appointed Chairman of its European business to lead its recovery after a dramatic shift in its market had massively reduced sales & margins. This involved several separate leadership, business development, operational and commercial changes within the business.
